Vice President of Operations


Jim Callaghan, a thirty-year hospitality veteran, joined Wischermann Partners in March 2006. Jim oversees all pre-opening functions and hotel teams report to him. Jim helps the property teams to achieve their strategic objectives in a very hands-on-manner. He coordinates the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting efforts, and serves as a conduit to the brand operation teams ensuring brand performance.

Jim works closely with his counter parts in Human Resources, Sales and Finance to coordinate the overall success of each and every one of our hotels.

Jim also leads the operational aspects of due diligence for potential hotel acquisitions and coordinates the task force during take-over, facilitating a smooth transition.

Prior, Jim served as Regional Vice President for a national hospitality firm overseeing fourteen full and select service properties with Marriott and Hilton brands, located in various markets from Minneapolis to Boston.

Prior to that, he served as General Manager of Radisson’s flagship property, the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, with additional responsibilities overseeing Minnesuing Acres, an executive retreat owned by Carlson Companies, a position he held since 1997. He has been an active participant in local industry associations and was on the Board of Directors of the Minneapolis Hotel and Lodging Association. Callaghan also served as past Vice President of the Minneapolis Hotel Association from 1999-2000 and as a former member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce from 1998-2002.

Callaghan began his professional career in 1981 as a Restaurant Manager for Marriott International at the Marriott Twin Bridges Hotel, followed by Food & Beverage Director positions with Holiday Inns and Registry Hotels. In 1985, Jim joined Radisson Hotels and served in various capacities including Corporate Director of Food and Beverage and General Manager in Chicago and Minneapolis.
