KRIS AHLQUIST

Vice President of Human Resources

 

Kris leads our overall efforts in Human Resources, collaborating closely with our operational team. Her expertise and enthusiasm underline the continued focus on associate selection, training and development, engagement and management culture.

Prior to joining Wischermann Partners in 2012, Kris ran her own consulting practice for six years where as an Innovation Catalyst she wrote and facilitated workshops, delivered customized programs and keynote presentations on the topics of innovation, creativity, ideation, and collaboration. Her client list included blue chip corporations, associations and entrepreneurial firms.

Before her consulting role, Kris spent over 20 years with Carlson Hotels Worldwide serving in numerous executive positions in human resources, training, operations and meeting and event planning.  As Director of Organizational Development, Kris led the company’s innovation effort for three years managing multiple innovation projects as well as the creating and delivering the organization’s innovation curriculum.

As Director of Training & Development, Kris was responsible for the creation and execution of all educational programs. She led team and talent management, as well as departmental planning, budgeting, needs analysis, measurement and more. In addition, she was certified in several specialties including coaching and change management. Also in her training role, Kris provided opening training and operational support at over 60 hotels in the U.S., Canada, Panama, Germany, France, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Additional roles include: Director of Meetings & Events where Kris planned and executed global meetings from small executive retreats to conferences for thousands of attendees in North America, Europe and Asia; Director of Training at the 431-room Radisson Slavyanskaya Hotel and Business Centre in Moscow, Russia where Kris led a team of trainers who were responsible for training and brand culture for a staff of nearly 1,000; and Regional Operations Manager where Kris had a territory of 31 franchised properties and she conducted quality assurance inspections to ensure brand standards were achieved and consulted with managers, owners and management companies.

Kris attended Gustavus Adolphus College and studied at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

She is currently a member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
